This is a single level 3,500 square foot courtyard style home with a 500 square foot guest house adjacent to the pool and spa.
The home is designed around a central “Great Room” which includes the living and dining room as well as the kitchen and has as its focal point a massive river rock fireplace. The rocks for the fireplace were hand selected from the Snake River of Idaho by Al Pointer, an artisan/mason. The living room ceiling is rough sawn fir, T&G Lumber above a lattice grid of fir timbers which was antique finished to give the impression of age.
The floor finishes throughout the home, except sleeping areas, are imported Mexican adquain. The cabinetry is a mixture of cherry and hard maple with the front door and accessory furniture built out of Honduran Mahogany. All the cabinetry, furniture and custom doors built by Thomas J. Taylor Construction Cabinet Shop.
The exterior stucco was accomplished with a method of mixing two contrasting colors, when applied, to give it a mottled and aged look. The entire project from grading to landscape construction, including drilling a well, was supervised by Thomas J Taylor Construction Inc.
